Sophia Borowska is an artist, writer, and cultural worker based in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke. Through sculpture, installations, research collaborations, and community-engaged projects, her work questions and challenges prevailing systems of power and control in urban environments, online spaces, and in the art world. Her Jacquard-research practice seeks conceptual links between weaving, technology, and digital culture. She holds a BFA from Concordia University in Montréal and has presented her work in Canada, Denmark, and the United States. She has led workshops at articule and Milieux Institute’s Textiles and Materiality research cluster.
