Sanghum Film showcases works that transit the boundaries of language, form, and genre within and beyond the Indian subcontinent. Inspired by the Pali and Sanskrit word “Sangha,” meaning association, assembly, community, Sanghum Film is dedicated to bringing together cinephiles around independent and experimental film and video from South Asia and its diasporas. By engaging local filmmakers, programmers and writers with the diverse histories of political filmmaking and aesthetic experimentation that have emerged in South Asia, Sanghum Film incubates cross-cultural conversations about form, medium and content within moving image culture.
