Maori artist Lisa Reihana’s body of work plays an important role in multimedia art practices in New Zealand. Her exhibition at articule displays video and photographic works twenty years in the making. Reihana combines visual referents from Maori culture with fantasy, advertising, and video games to produce works that reflect on the construction of identity through issues relating to colonialism, feminism, power, and representation.
