1. The 2007 HTMlles Festival team is busy finalizing programming details
and is pleased to announce this year's exciting line-up!
You will soon
be invited to visit our new festival website (in progress), which will unveil
the complete programming schedule and provide detail on the artists and their
work, surrounding the theme crowd control. You are the first to hear about
HTMlles8 invited artists – watch for website updates to learn
more about their projects, articles and special events including workshops,
discussions, public intervention, performances and parties.

2. The “journées de la culture” are comming
up september 28, 29 and 30 in Montréal!
We are proud to announce that Myléna Bergeron, one of our HTMlles
8 artists, will be present at Studio XX's open studio on the 29th, from 1pm
to6pm. Come
and see digital experimentation.

Presented artists: Julie Leblanc, Valérie Walker, Magali Babin, Myléna Bergeron,
Patrice Coulombe, Hélène Prévost and Marie-Ève
Boyer.



3. Workshops

The 8th edition festival offers unique opportunities to meet and learn from
internationally renown artists, through inexpensive and timely workshops.
Stay tuned online for news of other workshops by festival artists.

Interdisciplinary artist Alejandra Maria Perez Nunez, from Chile, will
be in residency at Studio XX from October 2nd to 22nd. During her stay,
she will be
offering 2 workshops:



Title: DIY- noise generators

Artist: Alejandra Maria Perez Nunez

Date and time: Saturday and Sunday, the 6th and 7th of October, from 10am to
5pm

Objective: Creation of a noise generator and crackle box powered by small solar
pannels.

Cost: $50

Title: Electronics Crash Course: a DIY resistance

Artist: Alejandra Maria Perez Nunez

Date and time: Friday and Saturday 19th - 20th October, 12pm to 4pm

Objective: Creation of an FM transmitter and AM receiver with an antennae, with
experimentation session.

Cost: $25

HTMlles festival artists Mushon Zer-Aviv and Dan Phiffer, creators of Shiftspace
– a program allowing the overlaying of comments on existing websites – will
be hosting a workshop at the festival.


Title: Shiftspace – a Metaweb Hands-on

4. The HTMlles need volunteers! In order for this festival to be a memorable
success, volunteers are primordial. If you're interested, please send us your
name, contact info, interests and experience to allow us to match you to the
position that you would find the most enriching and interesting.

We are currently requiring:



Promotion

- distribution of promotional materials in your neighborhood

- postering (street and bulletin boards) in your neighborhood



Welcoming team

- door/tickets/guestlist

- tabling and sales

- opening & closing party 



Technical Support

- computer & network technical support

- technical support to artists



Transportation

- international artists' mobility

- transport of technical materials



5. We are presently seeking for accomodations for our festival
artist Kayle Brandon, who will be staying in from October 15th to 28th. Also
our artist Alejandra Maria Perez Nunez will be needing accommodation from
october 4th to 21st.
